Cardiology and Metabolism
Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death in the western world and represent an enormous challenge for the health care system in Germany alone, with more than 330,000 deaths per year. Whether high cholesterol levels or arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure or cardiac arrhythmias - simple physical interventions can counteract a serious or even fatal course of the disease.
Regular exercise and sport, as well as a balanced diet, can even mean that patients have to forego pharmaceutical medication.
